M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E!

In Honor of my friend's sons FIRST BIRTHDAY, they asked me to make a cake for the birthday party, completely decked out in everything Mickey.  Their adorable & hilarious son Jason is absolutely obsessed with anything Mickey Mouse.  Their 13x9 inch cake had a simple but Oh-So-Cute design that went even better than I had planned with their theme! Classic Red, Yellow, Blue & White circles covered the cake all swirling around the center silhouette of the Iconic Mouse head & ears, with a fondant outlined number One highlighting Jason's age.  The cake was a hit, and I couldn't have been happier to make a cake for our friends and their sweet baby boy!

A LITTLE CARS FAN!

As a Sweet celebration for his two year old nephew Nahuel, my friend and coworker Mariano asked me to make a small sweet little treat with the Disney Cars theme! More than happy to oblige, I wanted to create something different than my previous multiple Cars themed requests. I opted for a more abstract version of decorating to represent the theme, and created Lightning McQueen's face on the front of the cake, covered in the back by a large black and white checkered flag. I was REALLY excited to make this cake because it was ordered as an Ice Cream Cake!  Mariano was SO pleased with the decorations for his little nephew when he saw it!

BOCA JUNIORS!

As a TRUE Argentinian, my manager at the restaurant is a die hard Boca Juniors fan; the Argentinian futbol team! I knew that was all he would want decorated on his surprise birthday cake (thanks to Liz & Carolina!)  He also has a huge sweet tooth, so there was no way I could go wrong with my decadent chocolate cake and my NEW favorite pairing, chocolate mousse filling! Although he refused to be responsible for cutting the cake (he made me do it because he didn't want to cut into his favorite teams emblem!), he was sweet enough to share it with everyone at the restaurant too.  Happy Birthday Dario!

ANGELS AT 60!

A Very Very Special Birthday cake for my dear friend Casey's father, turning SIXTY!  A FANTASTIC reason to celebrate Casey & his Adorable mom Jan asked me to make a cake suited for their special occasion.  Both Casey and his dad, super into sports - specifically baseball; are Huge Angels fans.  It was only fitting that the cake be designed as such! Jan had done some research before hand to get some ideas of what they wanted, and found a very cool fondant cake that was designed to look like an angels jersey - and asked if I could create something like that.  Of course!  The cake was simple and stunning with the clean stitching details, hand made buttons, and hand cut 'ANGELS 60' logo lettering to complete it.  All on top of a bright green bottom to resemble the baseball field the cake was a huge hit!  Thank you AGAIN Casey & Jan for all of your GREAT business!

BOB MARLEY, BE HAPPY!

SUCH a fun cake to create, my friend Natalia requested a special little cake for her brother Ali.  He completely loves Bob Marley's music.  Wanting to do something a little different than typical Rasta stripes, I kept with Gold and Red colors but found a silhouette of Bob Marley's face.  I freehand traced the outlines onto black fondant and it made thee perfect decoration on top of the cake! Absolutely LOVING how it turned out.  Happy Birthday Ali Joon!

BEAUTY & THE BEAST

Fred and his girlfriend Laura are one of THEE cutest couples ever.  Celebrating their two year anniversary Fred wanted to have a sweet little something to commemorate their special day.  A very personalized cake he requested to have Beauty and The Beast figurines specifically wearing a football jersey & a cheer leading uniform, in USC colors.  The cake was decked in the iconic burgundy and gold, and topped with little fondant figurines just like Fred requested.  Piped 'Always & Forever' along the bottom and cut out fondant numbers for the date they began dating two years ago.  Fred told me how much he loved the cake when I delivered to him, and later when I got home I found out that Laura had loved it so much and was so surprised with the cake that she cried! News like that makes me love doing this ten times more than I already do :] Wishing all the best to Fred &Laura..can't wait to be creating your wedding cake in a few years!!

SOME MESSI INSPIRATION!

As a really SWEET gift to her friend Hugo, my friend Liz requested a special Birthday Cake for him.  What does he love? FUTBOL! And his All-Time favorite player is MESSI (of course). SO! for his birthday cake Liz gave me complete decorating freedom (my favorite!) to do with as I pleased.  I wanted to use the Futbol elements such as the field, iconic ball & of COURSE Messi's famous Jersey - but chose to personalize it with Hugo's name instead! Bright Fondant Lettering, Edible soccer ball & all the Color Contrast  made this cake really POP and she completely loved it!

FLAG FRENZY NEW YEAR!

Another order for my friend and coworker Jen, this custom cake was for her boyfriend.  She specifically wanted 'Something Sweet, & Strawberry" decorated with a Jamaican &London Flag saying "HAPPY NEW YEAR".  I wanted to pack the cake full of sweet strawberry flavor so I chose to make a sweet vanilla cake, and made homemade strawberry compote for the filling, with whipped vanilla frosting!

DO DO DO DO.. ALWAYS COCA COLA!

This Super fun custom cake was ordered from Jen, a darling coworker of mine for her Best Friend who apparently, is obsessed with Coca Cola.  She wanted just a very small cake for her, and was too thrilled when she asked if it would be possible to carve it into the shape of a can? Of Course Not!! I had a blast detailing the can of coke, hand rolling the iconic 'Coca Cola' label, creating the aluminum details and hand writing a quote on the back "A Can Of Coke For My Best Good Friend On Her Birthday". After I delivered her cake and received MUCH enthusiasm on how it turned out, Jen later told me just how much her best friend Mayra LOVED it!

HAPPILY EVER AFTER!

A dear friend &long time coworker of mine, the newly MRS. Diana Haight, was so kind to ask me to create her cake for her Big Day! Such an exciting new challenge being me first wedding cake order! We talked about her ideas for designs and she already had a photo for me of the color schemes and design she wanted me to use as inspiration.  I tweaked a little bit here and there but ultimate stayed rather close to the original design since thats what she had loved so much, and was able to construct my largest cake yet! She chose a three tiered design, each with a different flavor and filling - lots of baking and mixing bowls involved during the creation process, but the outcome was SO worth it!! I couldn't be more privileged to have been part of her special day, and cannot wait to create more dream cakes!

SPOOKY HALLOWEEN!

A friend of mine and my husbands, Jair, was celebrating his brothers birthday that falls on Halloween.  So as a double celebration for both the Holiday & the Birthday, Jair needed a cake that would compliment both occasions! Going with a dark and spooky theme I used my painting technique to cover the cake in black, blue and purple streaks.  I cut silhouettes out of black fondant in the shapes of bats, a wolf, and a large spooky tree.  I created a large spiders web and an eerie spider ! I used a ghoulish font as well to cut red fondant letters for his brothers name 'OMAR' along side the cake.  It was so much fun creating a dark and ominous themed cake, as opposed to my typical cutsey designs, and they loved it which made it that much better !

THE BRADY BUNCH

As first time customer, recommended by her son, a very very good friend of mine named Casey, Jan came to me with a request for a special 50th birthday cake for her sister in law.  Celebrating such a memorable milestone as a 50th birthday is first of all, a huge honor for me! And second, a celebration worthy of highlighting the life you have thus far lived, and all the wonderful memories it holds! Jan had the great idea of theming the cake after some of her sister in laws favorite Tv shows growing up such as Bewitched, Gilligan's Island, I Love Lucy & so on.  Ultimately we decided on just one; the iconic Brady Bunch! I wanted to create something a little less typical than your average cake, so instead of baking just a basic shape I custom carved Jan's cake into a miniature television displaying 'The Brady Bunch' Logo, 'wood streaked' food coloring painting, complete with fondant antenna & all of the Iconic Faces of the Brady Bunch Family along the front - all on top of a custom built wooden 'tv stand' to display the cake on!  The unique creativity that I got to use while designing this cake with Jan was SO much fun, I couldn't be more pleased.

A LOT OF NEON LOVIN'

As a present for her Best Friend, my coworker Liz asked for a cake that was SUPER Bright and Bold, completely decked out in animal print, her besties favorite! She had to have their quote on there "You're the Best..BIBLE". Out of all the animal prints I chose leopard, kind of sticking to Liz's previous cake that I had baked, making the cake Leopard Print on the INSIDE (so, so cool).  Cutting individual Leopard Spots took a Much longer time than I had anticipated but the result was completely worth it.  I dusted each of the spots in Gold Luster Dust, and rolled the rest of the bright Neon Pink fondant to hand script her quote.  When everything came together I had created Exactly what I had imagined for her, and her and her best friend both Loved it!

AHOY CAPTAIN!

One of the FUNNEST cake that I've been lucky enough to design and create so far, this was for a friends birthday celebration that was none other than a 'yacht club' theme.  Erick, the birthday boy made it a point to warn us ahead of time that no one but him was allowed to wear a captains hat that day because it was HIS birthday, SO I decided to incorporate it as the top layer on his cake!  Twisted fondant ropes, the number '26', flags draped across with his name, nautical stripes complete with an Edible Fondant Anchor and Steering Wheel on the back, this cake couldn't be anymore nautical if it tried! The best part? He had no idea he was even getting a cake that day ! One of his friends took a wonderful picture of the Birthday Captain & his Captain Hat Cake right before he blew out his sparklers that I shared below!

QUEEN 'C'!

Another order for his girlfriend, Oscar asked me to make a small dainty cake to celebrate her 22nd birthday.  More than happy to oblige, we discussed her favorite colors, flavors, and likes to come up with her design.  Christina is such a sweet girl and has an elegant poise about her! In attempt to capture that I wanted to do something regal (especially since she IS a princess on her Birthday) and came up with her initial adorned with a large glitter crown with sugar pearls.  The cake was a light peach color to compliment the gold crown and was decorated all around the sides with two different shades of yellow daisies; her favorite flower.  Also with her personal cake was an order of Tres Leches Cupcakes that I was told were completely Devoured!

BIRTHDAY WHISKEY LOVIN

A great great friend of my sister of law and mine just celebrated his 26th birthday, &for everyone who knows our friend Kyle, you know that Whiskey Jameson and him go hand in hand! It is absolutely without a doubt his favorite drink.  So for his birthday cake we had to create something fantastic starring his favorite booze.  Determined to capture the WOW factor, the cake was custom carved into the shape of a bottle, and decorated to look like just like his favorite label.  All homemade marshmallow fondant, hand cut/designed decorations..the WOW factor was absolutely captured in this spectacular replica.  He was SO ridiculously thrilled with his cake he didnt stop talking about it for DAYS!  Even then he went and posted a picture of it with a huge dedication to the work we did onto the Official Jameson Facebook page!! Beyond thrilled with how happy the cake made him..its EXACTLY why I LOVE what I do!!

None other than a LEOPARD PRINT cake adorned with her favorite colors, stars and an inspiring quote "Nothing Happens Unless First A Dream" would fit the occasion.  The inside was a Vanilla Cake, with Chocolate &Yellow cake leopard spots.  Flashy fun and SO unexpected by all the girls, the cake was a total hit!  Congratulations again Liz..Keep Dreaming Big!

I DO BELIEVE IN FAIRIES..&PETERPAN!

One of my FAVORITE orders so far, a coworker asked me to create and bake cupcakes for her niece's 5th Birthday Party.  The theme? Peter Pan for the boys and Tinkerbell for the girls!  Being a huge Disney Fan this order was a total pleasure and just way too much fun to design! I came up with various toppers that represented each theme for the boys and the girls, and went to work! For Tinkerbell, there were Fairy Wings, Tinkerbell's Shoes, Cute little Bows and Flowers.  And for the boys, Peter Pan's Hat, A Pirate Skull Flag, Swords & (my favorite..) Captain Hooks Hook! I couldn't be any happier with how cute all these cupcakes looked..not to mention how delicious they tasted!

A BIRTHDAY PRESCRIPTION!

My dear friend Casey Moran came to me requesting a very unique cake for a friend of his; he needed a birthday cake that celebrated not only his friends extreme fashion sense, but congratulated him on his acceptance into Pharmaceutical School! This cake was covered in a Louis Vuitton inspired print, Gloss Black Painted Fondant 'Ray Ban' Sunglasses, &my favorite piece; the hand designed/painted Custom Pharmaceutical Label that reads his personalized prescription - "Eat One Slice Twice Daily Until Gone- Red Velvet 500mg".  It was so much fun creating this very unique cake!

VIVA CUBA..&MOTORCYCLES!

My Best Best Friends Hubby was turning TWENTY FIVE this year!! OOber Old, I Know.  & I take it upon myself to remind him frequently! Haha for his birthday I really wanted to WOW him since he already knew I planned to bake his cake. Two of his favorite things? Cuba, his country & his Bike! So I took on the challenge of creating a Rice Krispy Yamaha R-6 &decorating it in fondant! Probably one of my most detailed cakes, I created an exhaust, Yamaha emblems, decals, rims, little side mirrors, all the way down to screws! But it all paid off because when everything came together the bike looked SO freakin cool I was in love with it! The cake wouldnt have been complete without the Cuban Flag so I made two; a mini one draped over the bike, and a larger one decorating the top tier on the cake.  His face was Stunned to say the least! &Mission accomplished for me!

I had too much fun creating and making this cake super festive with bright colors, edible pearl shimmer spray, geometric patterns, peachy flowers, some black for that special POP & of course a Gold Accented '23'! Everyone loved the cake that the poor thing was near demolished-but so well worth it! I rarely get to see the inside of my cakes so this was definitely a special &yummy treat :]

THREE YEARS &COUNTING!

For the Three Year Anniversary with his Beautiful Girlfriend Christina, my friend Oscar asked me to make a special cake for their Sweet Celebration! Only too happy to oblige, we worked and found an inspiration picture to design their cake from.  Shades of pink (her favorite color) & a Heart Shaped Tier were requirements.  I chose to adlib for their top tier decor; incorporating sweet phrases, their initials and of course their special date to make the cake unique.  Oscar &Christina loved the cake, and were SO awesome to send me back a collage photo of the two of them with it :] So happy I could help make your day special! &Many more anniversaries to come!!

AIR FORCE FOR 21!

Turning 21 is a huge landmark in your life, and what better way to celebrate than with a memorable cake shaped as your favorite shoe!? One of my coworkers and her cousin are OBSESSED with shoes &they have a competition each year on who can outdo the other one in terms of shoe related birthday gifts.  It started as giving the other shoe boxed shaped presents, then a cake, and in order to top her cousin- my coworker asked me to make a cake shaped as an air force one shoe! Lots of pictures were researched and sketches drawn to design the shoe, with all the stitching, fabric and logo detailing to go with it!  Little [stick figure] fondant Michael Jordan emblem, shoelaces, and a large red fondant '21' placed in front, &my creation was complete! Happy Birthday Frankie!

DIA DE LOS MUERTOS

A Special Request cake from another coworker for her girlfriends birthday, I created a skull-shaped Dia De Los Muertos cake!  She wanted to incorporate cooler colors like purples and blues with some kind of POP to the cake and just LOTS of detailing.  So after using different sized flower cut outs, some gold cross embellishing, deciding to add in some yellow gold fondant on the face,  a lavender piped frosting message and ALOT of colored dots all around the cake- I had my end result! A beautifully detailed &cultural cake that they loved !

MOTHER'S DAY &DAISY!

As a sweet little gift for his mother on Mother's Day, my coworker wanted to have a cake &cupcakes made in celebration! His mom prize possession (aside from her children haha) is her sweet little dog Daisy! My coworker knew she had to be on the cake, surrounded by the flower Daisies of course! Balloons with Heart details & a paper &toothpick banner completed his mothers cake.   For the cupcakes, I kept the same theme of the daisies and balloons as fondant toppers, and piped his mom's name in dark chocolate- 'Sirun' -which I completely fell in love with! It made the perfect Topper :]
