M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E!

In Honor of my friend's sons FIRST BIRTHDAY, they asked me to make a cake for the birthday party, completely decked out in everything Mickey.  Their adorable & hilarious son Jason is absolutely obsessed with anything Mickey Mouse.  Their 13x9 inch cake had a simple but Oh-So-Cute design that went even better than I had planned with their theme! Classic Red, Yellow, Blue & White circles covered the cake all swirling around the center silhouette of the Iconic Mouse head & ears, with a fondant outlined number One highlighting Jason's age.  The cake was a hit, and I couldn't have been happier to make a cake for our friends and their sweet baby boy!

A LITTLE CARS FAN!

As a Sweet celebration for his two year old nephew Nahuel, my friend and coworker Mariano asked me to make a small sweet little treat with the Disney Cars theme! More than happy to oblige, I wanted to create something different than my previous multiple Cars themed requests. I opted for a more abstract version of decorating to represent the theme, and created Lightning McQueen's face on the front of the cake, covered in the back by a large black and white checkered flag. I was REALLY excited to make this cake because it was ordered as an Ice Cream Cake!  Mariano was SO pleased with the decorations for his little nephew when he saw it!

BOCA JUNIORS!

As a TRUE Argentinian, my manager at the restaurant is a die hard Boca Juniors fan; the Argentinian futbol team! I knew that was all he would want decorated on his surprise birthday cake (thanks to Liz & Carolina!)  He also has a huge sweet tooth, so there was no way I could go wrong with my decadent chocolate cake and my NEW favorite pairing, chocolate mousse filling! Although he refused to be responsible for cutting the cake (he made me do it because he didn't want to cut into his favorite teams emblem!), he was sweet enough to share it with everyone at the restaurant too.  Happy Birthday Dario!

ANGELS AT 60!

A Very Very Special Birthday cake for my dear friend Casey's father, turning SIXTY!  A FANTASTIC reason to celebrate Casey & his Adorable mom Jan asked me to make a cake suited for their special occasion.  Both Casey and his dad, super into sports - specifically baseball; are Huge Angels fans.  It was only fitting that the cake be designed as such! Jan had done some research before hand to get some ideas of what they wanted, and found a very cool fondant cake that was designed to look like an angels jersey - and asked if I could create something like that.  Of course!  The cake was simple and stunning with the clean stitching details, hand made buttons, and hand cut 'ANGELS 60' logo lettering to complete it.  All on top of a bright green bottom to resemble the baseball field the cake was a huge hit!  Thank you AGAIN Casey & Jan for all of your GREAT business!

BOB MARLEY, BE HAPPY!

SUCH a fun cake to create, my friend Natalia requested a special little cake for her brother Ali.  He completely loves Bob Marley's music.  Wanting to do something a little different than typical Rasta stripes, I kept with Gold and Red colors but found a silhouette of Bob Marley's face.  I freehand traced the outlines onto black fondant and it made thee perfect decoration on top of the cake! Absolutely LOVING how it turned out.  Happy Birthday Ali Joon!

BEAUTY & THE BEAST

Fred and his girlfriend Laura are one of THEE cutest couples ever.  Celebrating their two year anniversary Fred wanted to have a sweet little something to commemorate their special day.  A very personalized cake he requested to have Beauty and The Beast figurines specifically wearing a football jersey & a cheer leading uniform, in USC colors.  The cake was decked in the iconic burgundy and gold, and topped with little fondant figurines just like Fred requested.  Piped 'Always & Forever' along the bottom and cut out fondant numbers for the date they began dating two years ago.  Fred told me how much he loved the cake when I delivered to him, and later when I got home I found out that Laura had loved it so much and was so surprised with the cake that she cried! News like that makes me love doing this ten times more than I already do :] Wishing all the best to Fred &Laura..can't wait to be creating your wedding cake in a few years!!

SOME MESSI INSPIRATION!

As a really SWEET gift to her friend Hugo, my friend Liz requested a special Birthday Cake for him.  What does he love? FUTBOL! And his All-Time favorite player is MESSI (of course). SO! for his birthday cake Liz gave me complete decorating freedom (my favorite!) to do with as I pleased.  I wanted to use the Futbol elements such as the field, iconic ball & of COURSE Messi's famous Jersey - but chose to personalize it with Hugo's name instead! Bright Fondant Lettering, Edible soccer ball & all the Color Contrast  made this cake really POP and she completely loved it!

FLAG FRENZY NEW YEAR!

Another order for my friend and coworker Jen, this custom cake was for her boyfriend.  She specifically wanted 'Something Sweet, & Strawberry" decorated with a Jamaican &London Flag saying "HAPPY NEW YEAR".  I wanted to pack the cake full of sweet strawberry flavor so I chose to make a sweet vanilla cake, and made homemade strawberry compote for the filling, with whipped vanilla frosting!

DO DO DO DO.. ALWAYS COCA COLA!

This Super fun custom cake was ordered from Jen, a darling coworker of mine for her Best Friend who apparently, is obsessed with Coca Cola.  She wanted just a very small cake for her, and was too thrilled when she asked if it would be possible to carve it into the shape of a can? Of Course Not!! I had a blast detailing the can of coke, hand rolling the iconic 'Coca Cola' label, creating the aluminum details and hand writing a quote on the back "A Can Of Coke For My Best Good Friend On Her Birthday". After I delivered her cake and received MUCH enthusiasm on how it turned out, Jen later told me just how much her best friend Mayra LOVED it!

HAPPILY EVER AFTER!

A dear friend &long time coworker of mine, the newly MRS. Diana Haight, was so kind to ask me to create her cake for her Big Day! Such an exciting new challenge being me first wedding cake order! We talked about her ideas for designs and she already had a photo for me of the color schemes and design she wanted me to use as inspiration.  I tweaked a little bit here and there but ultimate stayed rather close to the original design since thats what she had loved so much, and was able to construct my largest cake yet! She chose a three tiered design, each with a different flavor and filling - lots of baking and mixing bowls involved during the creation process, but the outcome was SO worth it!! I couldn't be more privileged to have been part of her special day, and cannot wait to create more dream cakes!

SPOOKY HALLOWEEN!

A friend of mine and my husbands, Jair, was celebrating his brothers birthday that falls on Halloween.  So as a double celebration for both the Holiday & the Birthday, Jair needed a cake that would compliment both occasions! Going with a dark and spooky theme I used my painting technique to cover the cake in black, blue and purple streaks.  I cut silhouettes out of black fondant in the shapes of bats, a wolf, and a large spooky tree.  I created a large spiders web and an eerie spider ! I used a ghoulish font as well to cut red fondant letters for his brothers name 'OMAR' along side the cake.  It was so much fun creating a dark and ominous themed cake, as opposed to my typical cutsey designs, and they loved it which made it that much better !
